Lately I’ve been listening to music from various soundtracks that I have collected over the years. I’ve always been one to pay close attention to movie scores. I find it so fascinating how a composer can weave together wordless music that perfectly matches a scene in a film, resulting in strong emotion. Here are a few that never cease to “get me.”
I would love to know some of the scores that “get you” and from what movies you found them in.
In my life, I believe it is very important to pay attention to the things
I find myself continuously drawn to. When something keeps tapping at my
shoulder, whether it be a place, a photo, a book, a person, a movie, a
song, an activity ~ I believe there is a reason why. Perhaps that tug is
leading me to a big or small piece to my journey, a place I have yet to
explore, or need to understand. Maybe it is part of the map leading me to
a connection my soul has been begging for. Or maybe that tap is helping me
to discover more beauty to fill my heart.
This is how many of my travel experiences have come into being. I remember
watching the movie “The Mission” while in college. It wasn’t the story
that gripped me, it was the scenery of South America, specifically,
Argentina. For some reason, I couldn’t get the images out of my mind and I
grew so curious about this country. Within weeks after graduating, I found
myself backpacking through Argentina for the next couple months. At times,
I was clueless as to why I was there, why I had to put myself in a rather
extreme and raw trip. It wasn’t until much later I was able to understand
how incredibly profound that time was, and how that experience truly
changed me forever. And this all happened because of one late night
movie.
Today’s road tunes includes songs that pull at the passport of my heart. I
would love to know some of yours.
