What I am

I’m not a risk taker. I’ve never ridden an upside-down coaster. I’ve never lived more than 100 miles from my family for more than a year. I’ve never packed it all in to live, like my client,  in an RV for 3 months, exploring my country & the one below it (but she freakin’ amazes me for doing it). I don’t have a tattoo or a belly ring or a pink streak in my hair. My nails might be bitten and the polish might be chipped, but other than that, I’m an average Jewish girl from Lawng Island who wants to dress like Zooey Deshanel, doesn’t find camping very appealing, and is happiest in the urban jungle of Brooklyn, which is now my home.
So what the hell am I doing at Gypsy Girl, a haven for earthy, bohemian, spiritual travelers?

Well….

I am a nurturer.
I am a celebrator.
I am a Creative (yes, capital C).
I am the slayer of the “Vampire Voices” that live in our head & tell us we’re good for nothin’.
I am a helper.

I am a word maker-upper.
I am a uniquity claimer who puts it out there, exposed, for the world to see.
I am an inspirer and an enthuser-er of others, so that they may find and claim their uniquity, their path, & their passionate career in the framework of their grown-up life.
I am a believer in Big Dreams and the fact (yes, the fact) that they’re always, always, always able to be reached. It’s simply about finding your way to them.
I am a believer in traveling quickly by taking baby steps.

I am someone who shows up for her own life.
I am a laugher.
I am a brightly-colored dresser.
I am someone who constantly wants to make out with her husband.

I am an optimist. Fully. Finally.
I am a belter, a tap dancer, a musical theater nerd, a comedian.
I am a connector.
I am a relationship builder.
I am a passion detective.

I am a puzzle-piece-put-together-er.
I am an escapee from Corporate America.
I am a dream leaver and a dream creator.
I am a rule breaker and a make-your-own-rules maker.
I am a supporter.

I am a joke teller.
I am a power listener.
I am a reluctant grown-up.
I am a silly, silly kid.
I am The When I Grow Up Coach and all that it stands for.

Michelle Ward, aka The When I Grow Up Coach, helps creative people devise the career they think they can’t have – or discover it to begin with! A certified life coach by the International Coach Academy & a musical theater actress with her BFA from NYU/Tisch, Michelle uses a dose of empathy, a shot of butt-kickin’, a wagon full of enthusiasm, & a crapload of inspiration to help solve the puzzle & turn her client’s grown-up skills & values into a passionate (& possibly out-of-the-box) career. She’s been featured in Newsweek and Metro News & could be found coachin’, bloggin’ & givin’ away free stuff at whenigrowupcoach.com.
