It’s wedding season around here, folks! That’s right… That is why love is in the air!

These sweet love birds came all the way from Arizona to elope in San Francisco last month and I had the honor to document their big day.

I so love photographing beautiful peeps! Look at the chemistry of this gorgeous couple! How can anyone resist love like this?

Shane and Jess wanted me to capture candid shots of them, which sometimes can be a challenge, but as soon as I saw them, I knew we were in for a hip and colorful shoot!

I had the best time walking with them from the Civic Center to Hayes Valley. They were such troopers! All along the way cars were honking in celebration of their marriage, and many others approached them in person, to extend their happy wishes for their life together. Truth is nobody could resist them. They looked smashing, didn’t they?

Shane and Jess enjoyed San Francisco and Hayes Valley so much that they may even move out here someday… I think they will have a blast in this town and San Francisco will also be very lucky to have them!

I could go on an on about how easy, charming and fun they were…. But seriously… Do I even need to? Look how cute they are!

Their smiles will forever be engraved in my mind and heart. Such a great pair!

You know… I want to take my pictures and do my thing, of course, but nothing is better than making my clients happy with what they get from me. Giving them a great shot and a great memory is the best part!

Shane and Jess, thank you for the huge gift of letting me spend a few hours with you in a sunny San Francisco day. I truly hope these pictures become a haven for you to come to, over and over, to reconnect with your love.
I wish you much much happiness! May you two always shine together :)

*** And for all my readers ~ A SPECIAL GIVEAWAY ~ In order to celebrate love in the wedding season, I will draw a winner from the comments section to offer a free couple’s photo session!
If you are not in the Bay Area, you can also gift the session to a friend or relative. Offer for couples only. It can be the real deal (an engagement or elopement), or it can be just a fun shoot to celebrate your relationship or anniversary. We can also do a fashioney fun shoot. Let’s just enjoy the sunshine and have some fun with the camera!
To participate, just leave a comment saying something lovely to Shane and Jess. I will announce the winner on Friday, July 10th.

Oh, Alex, what a great job you’ve done of capturing the joy of this gorgeous couple! xoxox
Alex – your photos shine with the joy and love this couple are sharing. What a wonderful gift you have.
Shane and Jess – may you always find those smiles in your hearts for each other, even on the cloudiest day you’ll warm up the room.
Brilliant spectrum of images of love. I dig the way you move the same vision throughout a myriad of backdrops.
Shane and Jess, may the way you glow in each other’s light continue the rest of your life. You are visibly light, comfort and warmth to one another in every way a couple could hope to be.
OOOOH!!! what a beautiful couple and the way you captured them is amazing! love these…and would love to be in on the give away – an afternoon with you and my hubby …well that sounds a bit naughty doesn’t it :) hahaha!
xoxo
Wow!!!!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous. Love the contrasting colors. My fave is the one where their heads are touching and there is a deep blue background. They will treasure these forever. :)
WWOWW! (That’s double-wow.)
Alex, you’ve taken a beautiful couple, thrown in beautiful backdrop, and made them even MORE gorgeous.
Some day you will photograph Ana and I. Maybe we’ll all be on vacation somewhere exotic. ;)
You did such an amazing job. I love that blue background on the closeup shot. And I want her shoes!!!
OMG! I would like totally marry him!!!
oh dear, what romantic photography of such a gorgeous couple. i too love love! amor y abrazos to you, alex (a truly exquisite artist).
Dan and I are in need of a vacation, so if we win, we might be able to fly out. (My bro lives in Santa Cruz, always an excuse to go see him).
Anyway, that couple is seriously in love. You can feel his adoration for her. Really moving.

wow! i LOVE your photos of this wedding. such a refreshing change from the normal posed shots. and the juxtoposition of graffiti art is so cool against their outfits!
I have known Jess since she was 12 years old. I married her wonderful brother. I can tell you that Jess and Shane are the real deal and I am bursting with love and excitement for them. You did a beautiful job capturing their love!
When I saw your beautiful photos of this newly married couple I made a mental note of how important it is to take at least a moment to give an appreciative, caring smile to our loved ones every day – sometimes a glance, a look can speak a thousand words and make those you care about feel sooo loved! You more than captured the secret language of this newly minted couple!
i am so stinkin proud, i don’t even know what to say. girl, you have lept into your dream, your talent, your power. your passion for your craft is so loud and clear and shows so brilliantly in your photos!!!!!!!
I don’t want to be entered in the contest, but those shots are gorgeous!
Well done Alex!!!
What vivid, love filled captures!
Your subjects are beautiful too, that helps.
I only hope when my big day comes that the photographer does at least half the great job you’ve done here. xoxo
congratulations shane and jess! may your life together be as blissed out and blessed as your wedding day!
what a gorgeous couple! such radiant and beautiful love!
alex ! I would enjoy little more than a fun photo shoot with you…though…not often in San fran, I would be quite tempted to make a weekend trip if named a winner…I would love to meet you (post BYW) and my husband and I have a special San Fran connection…it was the site of our first ‘couple’ getaway…we met at work and were sent away to the fresno valley together for work (no one knew we were dating at the time – so we felt quite sneaky)
This was nearly 13 years ago…but we made a weekend trip together to san francisco, went to a bears homecoming game (husband is a Cal grad) and now have fond memories of the beginning of an affair in your town.
Beautiful photos Alex.. I just love the way that you’ve incorporated those colourful backgrounds into the shot :-)
What a talent you are…I found you on Etsy and love love love your style! Keep up the fabulous work! You are blessed to have such a talent!
