Gudrun Sjoden – Fall Collection 2009
As soon as I discovered Gudrun’s world I couldn’t contain my excitement to share it with you.
Aren’t these photographs and these “folklore inspired” clothes incredible?
Truly works of Art, in my opinion.
Sigh… I’m such a sucker for color ;)
You must check all the flash galleries: Nora, Piroshka and Roses.
Gudrun travels the world in search of inspiration for her beautiful fashion designs. She’s been to Brazil, South Africa, the Far East, India, Mongolia, Gran Canaria, Turkey, among many other exotic locations. Oh my. I want to be like Gudrun in my next life!
She founded her company in 1976 in Stockholm. She now also manages amazing concept boutiques in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmo, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Zirndorf. I can’t wait to visit one of them someday!

You can travel with Gudrun through chronicles and videos of her trips around the world.
Here are some of my favorites:
Visit Mongolia and watch the photo shoot here.
Visit Guatemala and watch what inspired the collection here.
Watch Gudrun work in her studio and listen to her thoughts on the environment.
***
I adore any artwork that is inspired by folklore and world culture.
So I ask you:
Will you take the challenge of bringing in the charm of a cultural, ethnic or worldly aspect to your creative work this week?

  • I don’t know which I like more. The pictures or the clothes.

  • Absolutely ! I accept that challenge !
I love her shops..they are always a favourite stop off point for me when I am in Sweden. Once I even asked to rearrange their furniture a little so that I could take a few polaroids ! :)
