Mango Ice Tea and Cuban tostones, San Rafael, 2009.
Are you ready for some delicious links, my lovelies? I can’t wait to share some of my latest discoveries with you…
A new site created by a sweet friend of mine living in LA. Brian was laid of from his job recently, but instead of moping around, he decided to cheer up himself and the entire nation! Every day his site will feature kids from all over, holding signs with funny/inspirational quotes! You can participate too! Check out “Cheer Up Nation” here. I can’t wait to see this project grow!
A new friend (and dare I say “soulmate”!), with words that will make you weep, laugh and leap! She is an amazing writer and I am so inspired by her and her ideas. Check out her incredible blog Doorways Traveller!
A very inspiring project: Things I’ve learned…
A simple, poetic and moving video: Lost in a moment…

lost in a moment from dennis wheatley on Vimeo.

A movie I can’t wait to see and a soundtrack I can’t wait to download: 500 days of summer! Actually, I’ll always see anything with Zooey Deschanel. Love her so…

That’s it for today folks. Be back soon with Gypsy Life stories…
Have a great weekend!
xoxo

Studio Life: Yasmine is a Shining Star!

Final_first047.jpg
It’s been a while since I shared a “shining star” portrait session with you. So go ahead and grab your shades, because this one is going to shine so bright you’re not going to believe what your eyes are seeing…
Ladies and Gents ~
I have the pleasure to introduce you to Yasmine, Shining Star & Rockstar. How often to I get so lucky like that? ;)
Final_first131.jpg
When Yasmine first contacted me to have a session, I was immediately captivated by her sense of humor and wit. Then I found out she liked orange sunshine, blue slurpees and flip-flops of any color, which just confirmed that I would fall hard for her. And I totally did.
You can see why…
Final_first194.jpg
She is such a gorgeous thing! And she’s got such a gypsy charm that is irresistible to me all the way. Spending time with her was a gift. It’s true, peeps. Yasmine is really this incredibly beautiful inside and out.
We chatted about life and about travels to Spain, Morocco, India and Pakistan. [She sure knew how to keep me engaged and inspired!]

We climbed fences, played by the creek and built a fort with quilts, just so she could play dress up :) She also giggled the whole time at my goofy style as a photographer (rolling on the floor as needed to get the shot…)

I adore how these images show her playful, calm and sweet demeanor, as well as her grounded, deep and wise personality.
Final_house282.jpg
Doesn’t she look comfortable in her own skin? I love that about her.

And for someone with a blog named “Sweep the Sunshine” (which is such a great name!) I think these pics in the sunset were in order, don’t you think?
Final_lake100r1.jpg
She swept the sunshine and my heart for sure!

Pure beauty ~

Pure warmth & Pure soul!
*Thanks for a marvelous session, Yas! *

Inspired by Underwater Photography

It’s summer and all I can think of is WATER! SPLASH!
I grew up swimming in the ocean and in pools all the time in Brazil. But I realized that since I moved to the US, somehow that custom faded away. Perhaps the climate and the water temperature didn’t entice me as much. I miss it though! I miss the feeling of water enveloping me and I want to enjoy it on regular basis. So I’ve decided to join the local pool and go for regular swims. It should be fun.
Besides, it seems like underwater inspiration is all over. First, the Antro catalogue, we all loved… Then, last week, I was lucky enough to be part of a fun underwater shoot (which unfortunately I cannot share due to client/ timing reasons). And now, these incredible images by Elena Kalis.

Aren’t they absolutely lovely?
There is very little information available about this photographer, but apparently, these images were taken in the Bahamas.

And for all mermaids out there: My magic friend ~ Dancing Mermaid ~ is having another fantastic Mermaid Camp. This time for the actual little mermies. It starts today, but mermaids can join in anytime and follow at their own pace. Hurry and sign up. :)

So… How about playing with some disposable underwater cameras this summer?
Or perhaps a waterproof case?
Do you recommend any underwater gadgets?
Please share links of your underwater photos too, if you have any.
Have a great week, everybody! Make it a refreshing one :)
