Playing…

Scrapbook by the lovely Ali Edwards, Lovebomb 2008.
Since I’ve been back from the retreat, it’s been a whirlwind of things and chores to catch up on. There is that life outside the blog world after all… There are sweet friends to see, there is family to care for, there is a new job to learn, new co-workers to adjust to, and of course, the already pressing production deadlines!
In the midst of all of this, I am just trying to stay present and I am reminding myself that I am not the only one feeling that way. We are all busy, rushing and just trying to be happy at the end of each day. For this reason, I say to you: We all need to make space to experience life and feel our happiness… This happiness we work so hard for! And that means figuring out how to schedule our own playtime!
The best thing about the retreat for me (now I finally gather :)) was to witness all my friends playing with smiles on their faces. My lovebombs are brave women who lead lives full of responsibilities and challenges… But in that space, we were all just kids! What a treat it was to see each one of us holding a camera, a journal, a book, without any pressure whatsoever to put our toys down and tend to anything or anyone else. We all had the space to play! It was okay for us to daydream, to dance around the room, to be silly, to be messy and to ultimately, be free
I’m heading to some more playtime this coming week. It’s time for Burning Man once again! Those of you who know me a bit are aware of how much I love this time of the year! I consider it my New Year’s celebration. I burn all the old and start anew. And this year, especially, it means so much to me, because this is also the year I married the love of my life, who I met there, 5 years ago!! Yes! After 5 years our love is still burning! :)
If you’ve never heard of this festival… Here is a window to my experience last year ~
I’ll try to post again before I go on Tuesday.
Till then…
All my love to you.
And…
Please play, peeps! It’s good stuff for you!
